Side Door Live Returns to WUSF-Jazz this Friday with our John Lamb Birthday Concert

While the Side Door is temporarily dark, you can still hear some great concerts that were recorded live in the Palladium’s intimate nightclub.

WUSF-All Night Jazz presents an hour of Side Door Jazz on the first Friday of the month. This week’s concert is from our John Lamb Birthday Party, recorded before a packed house on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019.

The concert features a who’s who of Tampa Bay jazz stars including Nate Najar, who produced the concert, vocalists Brian Hughes and Synia Carroll, plus musicians Jeremy Carter, Mark Feinman, Alejandro Arenas, James Suggs, Jeff Rupert, Steve Boisen, Joe Porter, Mark Neuenschwander and more.

The birthday show airs this Friday night at 10 p.m. on WUSF 89.7. There’s so much music that Mike Cornette, WUSF’s jazz director, may include another hour of the concert on the first Friday in March. Stay tuned for that info.

And if you missed the James Suggs concert that aired the first Friday in January, you can follow this link to hear the concert.
