Historic Downtown Theatre Cultivates Diversity and Artistic Expression Among Local Performers

AUGUST 22, 2024 (St. Petersburg, FL) – The Palladium at SPC is excited to announce that applications are now open for the highly-anticipated Palladium Creative Fellowships 2025. This innovative program is designed to nurture culturally diverse performing artists, providing them with a full-service theater as a creative space to showcase their talent and captivate audiences. Palladium Creative Fellowships offer significant financial support to artists local to the Tampa Bay region, enabling them to embark on transformative journeys in collaboration with the Palladium. This fellowship program empowers local performers to create new works, advance existing ones, explore new media, and develop groundbreaking ideas. By investing in the vision and potential of these talented individuals, the Palladium continues its commitment to cultivating a vibrant and diverse arts scene that reflects the richness of St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay communities.

The Creative Fellowships program aims to elevate local artists with a platform to realize their creative projects and performance goals while enlightening audiences with an inspiring compass of artistic expression.

“Our mission with this program is to provide artists from diverse backgrounds with the space and resources they need to flourish and share their distinctive voices with our audiences. As a longstanding beacon of artistic expression, the Palladium is dedicated to supporting emerging talents in their creative journeys, says Paul Wilborn, Executive Director at the Palladium. “I encourage all aspiring performing artists to seize this unique opportunity and apply for the Palladium Creative Fellowships program. We look forward to uncovering the remarkable talents within our community and supporting their artistic endeavors.”

The Palladium Creative Fellowships offer a multitude of exceptional benefits to selected artists. Each Fellowship includes a stipend up to $2,500 and the possibility for additional funding and performance support at the completion of the project, enhancing the potential impact and scope of the artists’ work. Fellows gain complimentary access to state-of-the-art Palladium facilities, technical assistance from the Palladium’s professional sound and lighting staff, use of the Palladium backline, and invaluable marketing tools to ensure each artist’s work reaches a broad and appreciative audience.

This program advances local artistic exploration while spotlighting the dynamic range of performers hailing from Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, and Sarasota counties. The Palladium at SPC invites aspiring artists in genres such as jazz, blues, dance, classical music, chamber music, contemporary music, world music, pop/rock, and singer/songwriter to embrace this opportunity and submit their applications. The Creative Fellowships promise to be a life-changing experience, propelling artists toward new heights and leaving an indelible impact on the community’s cultural landscape.
