Uncle John’s Band brings Grateful Dead tunes to the cool confines of the Side Door this Saturday

Our summer season is starting off strong with a sold-out cabaret show on Friday night and Saturday’s inaugural appearance at tbe Side Door of one of my favorites – Uncle John’s Band.

I didn’t realize but these guys have been playing Dead music since 1989.  I’ve caught them at their standing gig at Skipper’s and at the Ale and the Witch. I love those venues, but I’m excited to see the band inside our acoustically perfect cabaret space. Plus, we’ll have our air conditioning cranked up so the music can be hot but you don’t have to break a sweat.

We will leave some room for dancing. Tickets are selling fast for Saturday night. You can get yours by following this link to our box office. Showtime is 8 p.m.

Coming up later this summer we’ve got bands doing the music of Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan, the Mamas and the Papas and more, plus some great jazz and blues. Check out our summer schedule and say hello when you’re at a show.

  1. Uncle John’s Band recently celebrated its 900th (yes 900th) show at Skipper’s. With your eyes closed you couldn’t tell it’s not the Dead.

    Bring ’em back again!
