Samson leads the Hebrews in a revolt against their enemies, the Philistines. Fearing his supernatural strength, they send a priestess, Delilah, to seduce him and discover his secret. She betrays him and shorn of his hair, and strength, Samson is imprisoned in the Philistines’ temple. He prays to the Hebrew God to deliver him from the tortures of Delilah and his enemies.
