World-touring Tabla artist, singer, composer, CEO of a non-profit Shruti Foundation and Shruti School of Music, Shankh Lahiri and Germany-based Sitar artist, and Master of Jazz Composition at Hochschule für Musik, Köln, Hindol Deb, bring together a unique sound of traditional and modern Indian classical music journey ‘Music for the Soul.’

The essence of Indian Raga music intermingles with the colorful rhythms of Talas. A special part of their presentation will be demonstrating the vocal compositions and interpreting their instruments with the human voice.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Hindol Deb
Deeply rooted in Indian classical music, sitarist Hindol Deb explores the infinite Possible combinations in the crossover of Indian music with various other genres such as contemporary western classical music, jazz and Nordic folk music. Hindol is a recipient of the State and National Scholarship for Sitar and has been invited by Recollets, Rikskonzerter, Academy of Carnegie Hall, Goethe Institute for music residency programs. With a strong Indian classical training Hindol also finished Master studies in Jazz. He has worked with some notable artists and musicians like Marina Abramovic, Renaud Garcia Fons, Markus Stockhausen, George Xilouris, Sebastian Gramss, Christina Fuchs, Nina and Mattias Perez among others. Shankh Lahiri
Internationally touring Tabla Artist, Composer, Singer, and Founder of Shruti Foundation, Shruti School of Music, Shankh & Friends – Global Project and WAHH!World Fusion Band. Multi-talented Shankh Lahiri, with a deep-rooted family tradition in Indian Classical Music has dedicated his entire life to this art form. As the son of sitarist and Guru Shri Rabi Lahiri, he was immersed in the essence of Hindustani Music from a young age. His intensive training in vocal and tabla from his father and subsequent graduation in both subjects are a testament to his unwavering commitment. Shankh has shared the stage with such legendary artists as Pandit Jasraj, Ustad ShujaatKhan, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Arati Ankalikar, Pandit Nayan Ghosh, Rakesh Chaurasia,and many more. Shankh successfully toured Germany, France, Switzerland, Canada, and the Middle East. He performed at prestigious venues and festivals, including the Sanremo Music Festival in Cuba, South by SouthWest, Gasparilla Music Festival, House of Blues, Rockwood Music Center, Straz Center of Performing Arts, and many more.
