Enjoy a concert of magnificent big band music with the Helios Jazz Orchestra and singer Synia Carroll in the large, socially distanced Hough Hall at the Palladium Theater. This concert is produced by the nonprofit EMIT.
Synia Carroll’s approach to jazz is reminiscent of Nancy Wilson with an energy and clarity to her voice that works very well with a big band. Synia is a favorite performer at the Palladium Theater. She received the “Maestro” award for her auto biographical, musical performance “Finding Sassy” at the 2019 Sarasolo Festival and has performed on the St. Petersburg Jazz Festival, Suncoast Jazz Classic and the Jazz Club of Sarasota’s “Jazz At Two” series.
The 18-member Helios Jazz Orchestra is directed by Dr. David Manson and has performed on the Clearwater Jazz Holiday, Ybor Jazz Fest, WMNF Jazz Fest and St. Petersburg Jazz Festival. The program features jazz favorites including “This Can’t Be Love,” “Black Coffee” and others.
Presented by the David Manson & EMIT.
