The candidates are coming! The candidates are coming – to the Palladium

St Pete Mayoral Debates 71312Where did the four years go? It doesn’t seem that long ago the Palladium was the site of the last St. Petersburg mayoral debates – and now they are back. Mayor Bill Foster and challengers Rick Kriseman and Kathleen Ford will be on-stage Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. for A Conversation With The Candidates.

We are again partnering with the Tampa Bay Times and Bay News 9 for this live, televised event. The debate is free and tickets are being distributed through our box office starting this Wednesday.  There is a limit of four tickets per person.

And the two candidates winning the most votes in the primary will return to the Palladium in October for a follow-up debate in advance of the general election.

For more details, here’s the release that appeared in the Times this week:

The Tampa Bay Times and Bay News 9 will partner to produce a live, televised St. Petersburg mayoral debate before the Aug. 27 primary. “A Conversation With the Candidates,” is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 6 at the Palladium Theater at St. Petersburg College.

Free audience tickets will be distributed beginning at noon Wednesday through the Palladium box office, 253 Fifth Ave. N.

The news organizations also will host a second, general election mayoral debate in October at the Palladium. Both events will be moderated by Times political editor Adam Smith, top, and Bay News 9 senior anchor Al Ruechel in a special edition of the show Political Connections.
