Roy Book Binder – from the Gaslight to the Palladium Side Door in one career

The Travelin’ Man, Roy Book Binder, is back at the Palladium’s Side Door tonight (Friday, March 16) for a night of acoustic blues, stories and an opening set by his buddy and fan – Damon Fowler.

For tickets and info, call our box office at 727-822-3590 or follow this link for on-line tickets and info.

I was chatting with Roy about his early days in NYC and it turns out he played a weekly open-mic gig at the famed Gaslight Cafe – the club now featured in the hit TV series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

“You could do three songs, and that was good since I only knew about three songs,” Roy told me.

Roy knows a lot more songs now. And has stories about most of them. He spends most of the year traveling the U.S. and Europe playing theaters, clubs and blues festivals. But he comes to us when he’s back home in St. Petersburg. It’s his only local show, so don’t miss Roy this Friday night.

And maybe you can request one of those Gaslight tunes.
