Catch Nate’s Bossa Nova project on WUSF tonight and at the Palladium Thursday night

You can get a preview of Thursday night’s From Rio With Love show tonight on WUSF’s All Night Jazz, with Mike Cornette. Nate Najar brought the band into the station to do some songs and talk about the show and the new album they are recording with Brazilian singer Daneila Soledade.

The band will be onstage Thursday night at 7:30.From Rio With Love features nylon string guitarist  Najar,  along with tenor saxophone star Jeff Rupert and the stunning Daniela Soledade on vocals. Two Palladium favorites, Tommy Cecil, on bass, and Eddie Metz, drums, are the all-star rhythm section. Cecil is here from D.C. and Metz is out of Orlando, and regularly plays with Nicki Parrot and Rossano Sportiello among other jazz stalwarts.

The gorgeous Brazilian sounds of Antonio Carlos Jobim, João Gilberto, Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd sound as fresh and new as when they took the world by storm with the Girl From Ipanema, Desafinado and so many more hits.
