Cape Breton’s Andrea Beaton Signals St. Paddy’s Day at the Palladium!

Signaling the start of the month of the ‘wearin’ of the green at the Palladium, last Friday night, March 12, proud Canadians and appreciative Americans all, joined in the merriment wrought by outstanding Cape Breton fiddler Andrea Beaton. Winner of the 2010 East Coast Music Association award for Instrumental Recording of the Year for her CD Branches, Beaton’s show was a ceilidh, a traditional Gaelic gathering featuring Gaelic folk music and dancing; a party full of music, dance, stories, warmth and laughter! Andrea is from a long line of acclaimed Cape Breton fiddlers (the MacMaster family). Kimberley Fraser, another master fiddler, joined Andrea on stage, step-dancing and also playing piano. Check out Andrea’s website www.andreabeaton.com. This concert is just the beginning of our St. Paddy’s celebratation at the Palladium! More green’s a comin’ when Two Irish Troubadours return to the Palladium’s stage on Friday, March 25! Read on for more information!
