Talk about timing. Just as we’re kicking off our subscription sales for the Palladium Chamber Players 2015-16 season, the series wins a big award!
Creative Loafing, the journal of all things artistic in Tampa Bay, named our series as a “Best of the Bay” winner in this week’s big issue. Here’s what they said:
Best Small-City Chamber Music with Big-City Cred
“Traditional chamber music can be a hot ticket, too — at least as played by the resident ensemble of St. Pete’s Palladium Theater. The four core members — Florida Orchestra concertmaster Jeffrey Multer and three musicians who commute from NYC (violist Danielle Farina, cellist Edward Arron and pianist Jeewon Park, the latter two a married couple) — have dazzled audiences with their musicality and stage presence, and Multer is a lively host. They’re fun, they’re glamorous (Park and Arron got a full-page profile in The New Yorker recently) and their music is sublime. The fact that they’re also popular reflects nicely on St. Pete. mypalladium.org”
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
The series is so successful, we’re growing this year. We’ve added an opening concert on Nov. 18, plus concerts on Jan. 13, Feb. 17 and March 23. Subscriptions are on sale now and individual tickets will go on sale on Oct. 5. Call or visit our box office for subscriptions, which aren’t sold on-line. For all details on tickets and concerts, click this chamber music link.
We’re also adding a “bonus” concert in April featuring the young Calidore String Quartet, which is the hottest young quartet in the chamber world, and features former St. Petersburg resident, Ryan Meecham.
Can’t wait to see you at the concerts!
