For one night only, Florida’s top contemporary jazz musicians team up to pay homage to David Sanborn, one of the biggest names in saxophone history, whom we lost this year.
The night will showcase three of Tampa Bay’s top alto saxophonists, all deeply and profoundly influenced by Sanborn. That is, Kyle Schroeder, Mike Scaglione (Julio Iglesias, Gloria Estefan) and Kenny Anderson (Gloria Estefan, Arturo Sandoval). On stage, you will also be treated to the talents of Tim George (bass), Peter Mongaya (guitar), Dave Reinhardt (drums), and the musical director for the evening, Ron Reinhardt (keyboards), who has had the honor of playing with Sanborn.
Experience the living legacy of Sanborn’s music! From his iconic collaborations with Marcus Miller to his unforgettable performances with Bob James and David Bowie, this band of all-stars will play their favorite tunes and share their personal stories of their interactions with the legend himself.
