Standard General Admission: $35 ( $30 advance rate until 7/1).
Students: $10 – standard GA only.

By proclamation in 2023, the City of St. Petersburg Arts, Culture and Tourism acknowledges, celebrates and recognizes July 19th as Al Downing Day of St. Petersburg. Mr. Alvin Joseph Downing (1916-2000), Jazz Music Icon, was a Tuskegee Airman, Professor of Music at Gibbs High School and St. Petersburg College and known as the Ambassador of Jazz by the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation.
The Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association Board of Directors proudly announces the inaugural “Al Downing Honors at the Palladium,” in celebration of Al Downing Day.
The Al Downing Honors, hosted by Mrs. Dierdre Downing-Jackson, pays tribute to individuals who have encouraged the understanding and appreciation of Jazz in the Tampa Bay area. The Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association will pay homage to some of Tampa Bay’s distinguished present and past Jazz legends. Those who have made an impact as:
– Jazz Musicians – Jazz Educators – Jazz Supporters
We are proud of our Jazz heritage and the contributions made that continue to preserve and perpetuate Jazz as an original American art form created by African Americans. In the spirit of Al Downing, who paved the way for future generations of Jazz enthusiasts, the Al Downing Honors is our way to show respect to the work of these individuals each year and to say a well-deserved “Thank You for a job well done.”
The Al Downing All Stars will be performing.
Members of the Downing Family will present awards to this year’s honorees.
