What is iberian jazz?
Singer Ona Kirei, who is making her Palladium debut tonight, is happy to tell you. She does it beautifully on a video she’s posted to her Facebook page. I loved it. Check it out at this link or just visit Ona’s Facebook page.
Here’s what we’re saying: Vocalist Ona Kirei performs her jazz-infused arrangements of traditional tunes of the Iberian Peninsula as well as some of her original compositions where American music influences collide with her southern European origins to create a unique, intimate, and warm yet magically coherent sound. She sings in the different languages of the Iberian Peninsula: Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Basque, and Galician, in addition to English.
Joining Ona at this show are a top notch goup of players including Pablo Arencibia, Alejandro Arenas, Dave Rudolph, Dominic Walker and Palladium favorite James Suggs.
The show is tonight, Thursday, Aug. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the intimate Side Door Cabaret. For tickets and information you can follow this link or call the box office at 727-822-3590.
Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind show!
