Damon Fowler’s new project – Southern Hospitality – rocks the Palladium’s Side Door Cabaret this Friday and Saturday

Palladium audiences already love Damon Fowler – and this weekend they get to hear Damon’s newest project – Southern Hospitality – a collaboration between Damon, Florida guitarist J.P. Soars and Memphis keyboardist Victor Wainwright.

The five-piece band will be appearing two nights in our intimate Side Door Cabaret and tickets are going fast.

I reached Damon in Delray Beach, where Southern Hospitality were getting ready for a Tuesday night gig. The guitarist from Brandon, who now calls Bradenton Beach home, was excited about the shows coming up.

“JP is a killer guitarist and having a piano player and some B3 in the mix, it just sounds really great.” Damon told me.

And for Damon, who normally plays with just a bass player and drummer, sharing the heavy lifting with two other great lead players, is a relief.

“I feel like I can breathe in this show,” he said.

But more than that, the band, which started as a fun side project a year ago, has – in Damon’s words – “sprouted legs and started running for us.”

That running includes a new album produced by Tab Benoit. A deal with Blind Pig Records, Damon’s label, and lots of booking opportunities.

Palladium audiences will be among the first to hear the new tunes from the album, along with some covers, some great blues and lots more.

Don’t miss Damon and Southern Hospitality this Friday and Saturday nights in the intimate – 175-seat – Side Door Cabaret.
