What a magical weekend at the Palladium with Nate Najar’s Bossa Nova Guitars last Friday and Saturday night’s soul-tastic evening with Little Jake and the Soul Searchers. Both nights were sold-out and everyone was happy they came out.
Nate and Phill Fest have performed here together in the past, but both guitarists have been working hard on their craft and it really showed that night in some amazing playing. And to me there’s nothing better than an old-school soul review, complete with a dancing horn section, a MC working the crowd, and “Star Time” when the headliner hits the stage. We had all that and more on Saturday with Little Jake and the Soul Searchers. Special guest vocalist Frankie Gearing joined Jake onstage, along with guitar man Sarasota Slim.
Larry Feldman, a great concert photographer, posted some shots on his Feldman Photocube Facebook page and shared them with us from Jake’s show with his horn band The Soul Searchers. There are also a couple of shots from our sublime Bossa Nova Guitars show.
Enjoy these and join us for more great Summer of Soul shows in the Side Door this weekend.
