This Friday, Sept. 5, at 10 p.m. WUSF All Night Jazz and The Palladium at SPC present the second edition of our monthly series called “Side Door at the Palladium.” This new partnership brings some of the Palladium’s best concerts – recorded in the Side Door Cabaret before the Covid shutdown.
Our pals at WUSF-FM will be broadcasting these edited performances on the first Friday of each month, during a special extended edition of the Jazz Trip@Ten on All Night Jazz, 89.7.
This month’s concert is “Carter Plays Coltrane” featuring Tampa-based saxophonist Jeremy Carter. The sold-out performance was recorded in July of 2019 at the Side Door Cabaret at the Palladium.Backing Carter that night was the veteran Tampa Bay trio La Lucha with Mark Feinman on drums, John O’Leary piano, and Alejandro Arenas on bass.
The broadcast will also feature interviews with Carter and Palladium Executive Director Paul Wilborn.
After the concert airs on WUSF, it will be available here and on our Facebook page to replay as a podcast.
Last month we kicked off the series with trumpeter James Suggs and a tribute to Miles Davis which you can listen to now at the WUSF Facebook page.
