Remember the old Rolaids commercial which asked the question – “how do you spell relief?”
Well, starting in September, our patrons will be spelling out that answer this way: “N-E-W-B-A-T-H-R-O-O-M-S”
We’re closing our Hough Hall main stage starting next Monday while crews expand our lobby bathrooms. When it is done we will have double the number of stalls. That should help speed the long lines that have formed at intermission during sold-out shows like last week’s St. Petersburg Opera production of West Side Story.
The Side Door Cabaret, which is served by bathrooms along the back hallway, will remain open in August with weekend shows featuring great blues, jazz and on Sunday, stand-up comedy!
After we complete the front restrooms, we will renovate the back restrooms and install a new air conditioner for the Side Door which is also something that’s much-needed.
To make your visit even more pleasant, we should have comfortable new chairs in the Side Door starting this fall. That’s thanks to a generous donor who loves the Side Door but didn’t love our cheap folding chairs.
Be prepared for a much more comfortable Palladium experience next season. In future blogs, I’ll include more details and maybe even some construction drawings.
During July, we will have limited box office hours. Here’s what we’re saying about that:
The Palladium’s Box Office window will be closed July 14th through the 31st during renovations to the theatre, and no performances are scheduled during this time.
Tickets for upcoming shows may still be purchased two ways: 1) Purchase tickets online anytime by visiting the Palladium’s website at www.mypalladium.org. 2) You may also purchase tickets by phone by calling (727) 822-3590. Leave a detailed message including your phone number, the show you’re interested in attending, and you will be called back on the next business day.
Box Office hours and performances will return on August 1st.
There you have it! See you in August at the Side Door!
