Lauren, who is known for her powerful singing and her fire-engine red shoes, is quickly making a name for herself in the blues world.

It’s exciting times for Lauren Mitchell and her namesake group the Lauren Mitchell Band – they just took home the gold at the Suncoast Blues Challenge and will now go on to represent the Suncoast Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis this January.
Influenced by legendary female singers such as Etta James, Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin, Lauren has honed her craft belting out the blues in hundreds of honky tonks around the country.
When she isn’t traversing the highways and byways of the good old U.S.A. you can catch Lauren and the band at prominent venues around Tampa Bay. Upcoming gigs include an appearances at The Palladium Theater‘s Side Door on Friday, Nov. 8.
Kevin Tighe is a professional photographer residing in Dunedin. His images have appeared in numerous local and national media including Rolling Stone, ABC, NBC, USA Today and The Tampa Bay Times.
