Songbirds of a musical feather and fellow Best of the Bay 2021 award-winners, Ed Woltil and Kirk Adams have long been revered as two of Pinellas County’s prime purveyors of adventurous original pop-rock — think The Beatles, Wilco or Tom Petty, then throw in a dash of Paul Simon (Ed) or Tom Waits (Kirk) for a surprise twist. Both writers have the knack for spinning out indelible melodies that also pack an emotional punch — and they’re not shy about mining the dark side or wearing their quirks on their sleeves.
