We’re back just in time for the holidays; Enjoy December at the Palladium!

I don’t know about you, but I’m personally ready to forget most of this fall. It wasn’t pleasant and at the Palladium it certainly wasn’t business as usual. That’s why I’m especially excited about what’s happening in December at your favorite venue.

Check out this lineup:

The Nutcracker

The holiday fun starts Friday when The Nutcracker returns to the Palladium for four performances over the weekend, including two matinees. Our longtime Nutcracker presenter, St. Petersburg Ballet Company, is back with the magical story and dazzling choreography of this holiday favorite. And there’s a good chance your kids or grandkids will know some of the top-notch local cast. Second Time Arounders

Another almost annual favorite kicks off the week. The Second Time Arounders present “The Holiday Spectacular.” The concert features the St. Petersburg College Jazz Band, the Second Time Arounders Marching Band, and the Second Winds Symphonic Band which has elite musicians from local community marching bands, conducted by Bill Findeison and Roger Green. Palladium Chamber Players

Next up on Wednesday is the much-anticipated return of the Palladium Chamber Series with selections from Mozart, Dvorak, and Schumann, performed by a cadre of the world’s best chamber musicians.  Those players are: Jeffrey Multer, violin, Amy Schwartz Moretti, violin, Che-Yen Chen, viola, Ed Arron, cello, and Jeewon Park, piano. Amy Schwartz Moretti is the former Concertmaster of the Florida Orchestra and Jeffrey Multer is her successor. The concert is the first of five happening between now and May. Gulf Coast Dance Theater returns to the Palladium with a reimagining of the classic Nutcraker story, this time set in New York City. Young Clara visits the Big Apple for the first time experiencing the spirit of the season and the magic of the city at Christmas time. You can join in her delightful journey as she dances amidst the iconic sights and sounds of the Big Apple, where she discovers a magical candy store window display leading to a wondrous Land of Sweets. This one is a holiday treat for all ages. For tickets: https://mypalladium.org/events/claras-new-york-city-christmas-pre-matinee/

St. Pete Opera: Holiday Sparkle

This now-annual show is holiday pops at its grandest! Holiday Sparkle, from our friends at St. Petersburg Opera, features a 40-piece orchestra, and some of your favorite singers offering choral and solo renderings of popular favorites, both sacred and secular. With shows on Dec. 17 and 18, Holiday Sparkle is a great show for families. For tickets and more info: https://mypalladium.org/events/st-pete-opera-holiday-sparkle-dec18/
