Ethics in action!
CAMPUS CONNECTIONS CONCERT
SPC Community Concert Band and Community Wind Symphony
Featuring SPC Ethics Department
Discover Ethics and Music at SPC’s Annual Campus Connections Concert!
An evening where music meets moral inquiry with the SPC Community Concert Band and Community Wind Symphony, presented in collaboration with the SPC Ethics Department. This year’s concert shines a spotlight on the rich tapestry of ethical discussions and initiatives at SPC, weaving together a program of musical pieces that resonate with themes of civil rights, health ethics, science and space exploration, technology, and moral philosophy.
Featuring a repertoire that spans the emotional and intellectual landscape, our concert includes works by illustrious composers such as Shostakovich, Camphouse, Saucedo, Buckley, Perrine, Fiedlsteel, and John Williams. Each piece is chosen for its ability to spark conversation and reflection on ethical issues that touch every aspect of our lives.
In addition to the musical exploration, connect with the SPC Ethics Speaker Series, enriching your concert experience with thought-provoking discussions on Ethics in Action. This year, we pay special tribute to a remarkable figure in our community, Dr. Lee Miller, SPC Ethics Professor and founder of the first Community Food Pantry at SPC, highlighting the impact of ethical action in our community.
Engage with the themes that define our times, experience the power of music to inspire change, and celebrate the contributions of those who have made a difference in our community.
Admission is free, making this a perfect opportunity for students, faculty, and community members to connect with the profound messages at the heart of the SPC Ethics Department’s mission.
Presented by St. Petersburg College.
