Lauren Mitchell has long been a favorite down here. And it has been fun to watch her career advance – due not only to her great voice and stage presence – but the way she has built her musical dream one album and one tour at a time. Nobody works at her show and her career harder than Lauren.
Her most recent tour took her to Buddy Guy’s Legend’s blues club in Chicago on Aug. 29. And when Lauren took the stage, Buddy couldn’t resist – he jumped up and they sang together!
That show came just four days after she and the band tore it up on the mainstage at the Crossroads Blues Festival in Rockford, Illinois. Another Chi-town blues giant and Grammy nominee, Lurrie Bell, was paired with Lauren for that show.
