Palladium Paul interviewed for All Night Jazz and you can hear it here

I was in WUSF Radio studios taping an arts podcast on a stormy afternoon last week when I noticed Mike Cornette, WUSF’s jazz director on the other side of the glass.

After I finished my podcast, he hopped into the interviewer chair and we chatted a bit about our jazz programming at the Palladium.

We talked about our upcoming “Summer of Soul” season at the Side Door that kicks off on July 27th with a Jeremy Carter show called The Soul of Jazz.  Then we moved on to highlight some of the other shows coming to the Side Door this summer – all tied to soul music in some form.

Our “Summer of Soul” runs from July 27 to September 15 and we’ll be doing a major announcement listing all artists and dates shortly. And I’ll be sharing it on my blog.

The All Night Jazz interview was broadcast late last week, but in case you missed it – as I did – Mike was nice enough to sent a link. You can hear our interview by following this link.

One of the June shows we talked about is in the Side Door:  It features our own Nate Najar, who is sharing the stage with two of the jazz world’s top sidemen – clarinetist Dan Levinson and bassist  Tommy Cecil. Nate’s calling the show “Swing Trio,” and I guarantee it is a show that will live up to the title.
