Side Door reopens with Damon (blues), Mark (jazz) and Alex (soul) in our way cooler nightclub

You might want to bring your sweater when you visit the Side Door for one of our “grand reopening” shows starting this Friday.

 

The Side Door nightclub was closed during August and most of September for brand new air conditioning and some new paint. We also hung some wonderful art. And coming soon – we’ll have another batch of comfortable chairs for your sitting pleasure. Since it is still summer in Florida, we’re setting the new A/C on “stun.”

 

For your listening pleasure, we’ve invited two Side Door favorites and the new jazz guy on our block to help us celebrate the reopening.

 

Here’s the lowdown:

 

Friday, 9-29 and Saturday, 9-30 – Damon Fowler returns to his favorite club for two nights with his trio. Damon was the first blues act in the Side Door and we love having him her for back-to-back nights. For tickets and info to that show just follow this link. Sunday, 10-1 – Mark Moultrup is one of the great jazz  performers who have relocated to our area. He’s been a supporting player in the Side Door but on Sunday he’ll headline a show that features his talents as a pianist, vocalist, composer and arranger. Joining him will be some Palladium and Side Door favorites including: James Suggs (trumpet), Dan Jordan (reeds), Mark Neuenschwander (bass), Jean Bolduc (drums, percussion). Friday, 10-6 – Few performers have rocked the Side Door like our own favorite soul man Alex Harris. We had to get Alex and his crack band back here for another night of classic soul tunes

delivered by this charismatic vocalist. The show is called appropriately: iGot Soul and Alex and the band deliver on that title. You’ll be singing along and dancing throughout. For tickets and info follow this link or our box office at 727 822-3590.
