Tampa Bay mascots will take Chubby Checker’s Twist Challenge Tuesday at Palladium

THIS JUST IN: Team mascots from all over Tampa Bay will take Chubby Checker’s Twist Challenge at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 21 on the steps of the Palladium.
 
Raymond (Tampa Bay Rays), Thunderbug (Tampa Bay Lightning), Pelican Pete (Tampa Bay Rowdies), along with mascots from the Tampa Yankees, Clearwater Threshers and other teams, will dance The Twist to Checker’s classic recording, in support of Mascots for a Cure, a national non-profit organization dedicated to help children and their families battling cancer.
 
The resulting video will be used as a challenge to those in Tampa Bay, and other communities, to donate to Mascots for a Cure, and to create their own Twist Challenge videos.
 
Chubby Checker, the celebrity spokesperson for the organization, performs at The Palladium Thursday, March 23. Here’s a link for tickets and information on the show.
 
The public is invited to come out and watch the fun, and to twist along in the video! The Palladium is located at 253 Fifth Ave. North at Third Street.
