Seasonal Sparkle returns for two shows – as St. Pete Opera mourns the loss of one of their own

After Thursday night’s record-breaking Jazz Holiday show, with our own Nate Najar, the Palladium’s holiday season is wrapping up with another December favorite  – St. Pete Opera’s Seasonal Sparkle.

This crowd-pleasing show features a mix of opera and holiday works, beautiful holiday decor, and the excellent singing and musicianship that comes with every SPO production. As I’m writing this, tickets are being transferred to the Palladium box office and will be on sale by Friday afternoon.

When the stars sparkle during the shows on Sunday afternoon and Monday evening in Hough Hall, one star will be missing. The opera family and the local arts community are mourning the tragic death of Jason Miller, who most recently played Stewpot in last summer’s production of South Pacific. He was an SPO chorus member, understudy and part of the emerging artists program. He died in a car accident on Dec. 10.

The opera has set up a Jason Miller Memorial Chorus Fund. Visit the SPO website for more details.
