I’m very proud of our favorite young musicians in the Calidore String Quartet. After a return engagement in April, as part of our Palladium Chamber Players season, Calidore will debut next week at Carnegie Hall.
Calidore features violinist Ryan Meehan, who grew up in St. Pete, and cites our own Jeff Multer, as a major influence on his musical career.
What follows is a note from Calidore to their friends and fans about the concert:
Dear Friends,
We are delighted to invite you all to join us in our Carnegie Hall debut on May 10th, 2016 at 8pm in Weill Hall. This concert will mark the culmination of our two-year residency at Stony Brook University and we are so excited to celebrate what has been a truly transformative experience for us. Our residency included mentorship from the Emerson String Quartet and David Finckel, teaching undergraduate chamber music and individual lessons, outreach in public schools, performing new works by Stony Brook composers, and numerous collaborative concerts with other faculty members.
The program will include Mozart String Quartet in D major K575, Hindemith String Quartet No. 4, Op. 22, and Mendelssohn’s last string quartet, No. 6 Op. 80 in F minor.

We hope you can join us in NYC for this special occasion! Reception to follow in the Jacobs Room at Carnegie Hall.

We would like to thank the members of the Emerson String Quartet (Eugene Drucker, Larry Dutton, Phil Setzer, and Paul Watkins), Perry Goldstein, David Finckel and the entire Stony Brook Music Department for their guidance and support.
